Shallow and Deep Marine Sedimentation: Principles and Application
Marine & Offshore · 5 Days · Public · Al-Khobraa certified · From USD 3,900
Overview
This 5-day intensive Shallow and Deep Marine Sedimentation training course is designed for petrophysicists, geologists, geophysicists, or engineers who use core, borehole images, log data, core data, and production data to produce or understand facies produced in a shallow and deep marine sedimentary environment.
Learning Objectives
Understand different shallow and deep marine facies models and their sedimentary setting
Interpret mud logs, core, and thin sections to produce shallow and deep marine facies logs and a facies model
Utilize borehole images, log data, ECS and NMR to generate marine electro facies
Identify accurate geological analogs, to derive input parameters for geological models
Understand upscaling, which honors geological data to create accurate static and dynamic geological modeling

What do Al-Khobraa marine and offshore courses cover?
The portfolio covers offshore safety and survival, marine and vessel operations, dynamic positioning, port and terminal operations, marine cargo handling, offshore installation and rig operations, and marine inspection and maintenance — aligned with international maritime standards.
Who should attend a marine or offshore course?
These courses suit marine and offshore engineers, vessel and rig crews, port and terminal operations staff, marine superintendents and surveyors, offshore HSE personnel, and logistics or contractor teams supporting offshore installations.
How long are marine and offshore courses, and where are they held?
Most Al-Khobraa marine and offshore courses run over 5 days. The exact duration, dates and city for this course are listed in the dates section on this page. Public sessions run across Saudi Arabia — Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Jubail and Yanbu — as well as regional and international venues, with live virtual classrooms available on request.
What certificate will I receive?
Delegates who complete the course receive an Al-Khobraa certificate of completion, issued by a Saudi-registered training provider. Al-Khobraa also delivers internationally accredited programmes; where a course carries an external awarding body such as PMI, CIPS, ILM or IOSH, that body is named on the course's own page.
Can marine and offshore training be delivered in-house for our team?
Yes. Any Al-Khobraa marine and offshore course can be delivered in-house at your own premises anywhere in Saudi Arabia or the GCC, with the content, dates and language of delivery tailored to your team. Al-Khobraa is an approved HRDF (Hadaf) provider, so eligible Saudi employers can seek training support. Contact us for a quotation.
